Safeguarding & Welfare Breakfast Meeting
We had originally arranged this breakfast meeting to have conversations with Kent Swimming's coaches about club behaviours, work/life balance, and mental health issues, but sadly the response has been limited. So, rather than waste the opportunity, we have opened the meeting out to Kent Swimming’s club welfare officers and others to come together to discuss the safeguarding and welfare issues affecting our clubs.
Full details are below but please do note that it might be that places will now be limited.
- Date: Sunday 7 September 2025 (closing date for applications is 1 September 2025 but please contact Chelsey Denney direct after this date as there may be spaces available)
- Time: 09:30-11:00
- Venue: Holiday Inn Express, London Road Wrotham Heath, Wrotham Heath, Sevenoaks TN15 7RS
- Closing date for bookings: 1 September 2025
So, this free breakfast meeting - and yes, it does include a free breakfast - is open to all of Kent Swimming’s Welfare officers, management and coaches to discuss the various concerns you face, and to work together to identify how we can help to support you at County level.
Topics for discussion will include:
- Athlete/coach welfare both within our clubs and at competitions
- Support for welfare officers and committees
- Work/life balance especially for those in volunteer roles
Spaces will be strictly limited to 15 in total and potentially to just one representative per club so that we can offer this opportunity to a wider range of clubs.
Booking is first come first served and will close by Friday 29 August. Please book using the form below and remember to let us know as soon as possible if you are subsequently unable to attend as there will be a waiting list or, of course, if you would like more information.
