12 YEAR OLD PATHWAY PARENTS TALK:  As in previous years the County on behalf of Swim England Talent will be running Camps for the swimmers in the 12 year old age group ie: born in 2013.  Forty-two swimmers will be selected (21 Open/male 21 female) for the two Camps, one to be held in October 2025 and the other July 2026.  The selection will be made after the Summer Regionals.

We will be holding a talk on the programme by our lead coach Gary Inch of Greenwich Royals supported by our lead team manager Marie Atkinson-Brian in the lunch break at LAC on Sunday 26 January. This will be therefore be at 1230 or if later within 10 minutes of completion of the morning session, and will be in the Creche at the LAC which is near the ground floor main reception.

This is open to all parents of 2013-born swimmers but we would ask that one parent per swimmer attends as space is limited. If your swimmer is born in any other year please do not attend.  For those swimmers born in 2014 and later there will, subject to Swim England directions on the Pathway, be the opportunity to attend a similar talk next year.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT:  A great deal of work goes on behind the scenes to enable the championships to run smoothly - the county is always on the look out for new people to help with the technical support needed and whilst we have a dedicated technical support team who can pass on their skills and knowledge it is a small team and we need to increase the numbers - if you are technically minded then this may well be the volunteer role you are looking for in swimming.

(19/12/2024) Spectator tickets

Spectator tickets are now available using this link.  Please note the following details:

  • Tickets are limited to 1,200 per session for all events at the LAC. There is no spectator limit for events at K2.
  • Please check that the details entered are correct - especially your email address - as any errors will mean that you will not receive your ticket confirmation.
  •  In the event that any spectators are unable to attend any of the sessions, tickets are non-refundable.

(19/12/2024) URGENT update to Female 17+ 50M Butterfly consideration time

Due to an inconsistency between the Female and Open/Male times for this event the consideration times have relaxed for the Female 17+ 50m Butterfly. The Long Course Consideration time will now be 33.80 and the Short Course Consideration time 33.20. (An updated version 5 of the qualification times is below)

Please continue to use the existing entry files for all other entries but if you have a female swimmer whose entry time for the 17+ 50m Butterfly is between 32.31 and 33.80 long course or between 31.71 and 33.20 short course please enter manually by emailing Lynn Gates on lynn.gates@kentswimming.org before the closing date to include the swimmer’s name, date of birth, Swim England Number and the time. All conditions relating to entry otherwise remain in full force and effect.

(11/10/2024) Closing Dates

  • 18 December 2024 for 800m freestyle at K2 Crawley on 11 January 2025
  • 8 January 2025 for the remainder of the events including all LAC events and 1500m freestyle at K2 on 1 March 2025

(10/10/2024) Programme and Qualifying Times

The Consideration times in a number of cases are slower than last year which may therefore mean that unlike last year when all entries were accepted there may be some rejections.  This will partly be due to the slower times but also due to the fact that as the LAC events take place outside the half-term holiday, those clubs who chose go away on half term-camps are likely to be in attendance. Swimmers should however enter all events for which they have the consideration time.

We are also aware that the date for the 1,500m freestyle clashes with Arena League Finals weekend which will affect those clubs who qualify.  Whilst this is unfortunate, 1 March was the only feasible weekend date we could be obtain, both within the County Championships window and at a reasonable cost.

Confirmed Dates

We can now confirm the dates for the Championships next year are:

  1. Saturday 11th January at K2 Crawley (evening only 800m freestyle)
  2. Saturday 25th/Sunday 26th January LAC Stratford
  3. Saturday 1st/Sunday 2nd February LAC Stratford
  4. Saturday 1st March at K2 Crawley (evening only 1500m freestyle)

We appreciate that the dates for the long distance events are not ideal but these are the only realistic and cost effective dates that can be obtained within the County Championship window.

We are finalising Qualifying Times and hope to have these out during the course of this month.
