We have pleasure in inviting you to attend the 2023 Annual Council Meeting which will take place on Saturday 23 September at the Orida Hotel, Bearsted Road, Maidstone ME14 5AA. The doors open and tea/coffee will be served at 10.30am.  The ACM will start at 11.00am, followed by a buffet lunch, and will include the presentation of awards listed in the Annual Report.

The following documents will be accessible here and/or circulated at least ten days before the meeting:

Management Committee vacancies – make your voice heard:

We currently have several Management Committee members coming up for re-election plus a number of vacancies. It is getting to the point that without new people to fill these vacancies our numbers will be so depleted that we will not be able to deliver what we have been able to do so to date, to the detriment of our athletes.  The future of Kent Swimming's activities are - as members - in your hands.

Roles for re-election for a further three-year term to 2026:

  • General Secretary (currently Shelley Robinson)
  • Secretary Kent Rural SC (currently Shelley Robinson)
  • Treasurer and Trustee (currently Ian Howes)
  • Elected Representative Kent London SA (currently John Handley)

Vacancies:

  • Elected Representative Kent London SA to 2025
  • Elected Representative Kent Rural SA x2 to 2024
  • Elected Representative Kent Rural SA x2 to 2025

We would really do need your support so, to make a nomination, please use the form below and return it by 8 September 2023.

We also have a vacancy for a Development Coordinator who also sits on the Management Committee. If you are interested in the role, the role description is here and expressions of interest can be sent to the Chairman. We also need Managers for Disability/Para swimming and for Diving. Again, expressions of interest can be sent to the Chairman.

Edward G Maples Trophy:

One of the ACM presentations will be for the Edward G Maples Memorial Trophy 2023 which is your chance to nominate someone who regularly goes beyond the call of duty in supporting the activities at your club. Nominations can be made using here but please note that only those submitted up to and including 31 August 2023 will be considered.
