Diving
Diving is one of the most exciting sports in the world. It involves leaping and springing into water, while trying to perfect a series of perfect body positions. But it is also very strictly controlled. If you want to learn more, or just discover some fascinating facts about the sport, follow this link to the Swim England Diving and British Swimming Diving pages.
Although Kent has a number of pools with diving boards, the number of competitive diving programmes has decreased from the heady days when Hayley Allen of RTW Monson represented the GB in the Olympics in Barcelona (1992) and Atlanta (1996). Crystal Palace Diving Club is producing world class divers in Kent London, but the county is lacking anything near that level in Kent Rural.
Currently there are three diving programmes identified in the Kent Rural area at Maidstone SC, Highgate Diving Club and Tunbridge Wells Diving Club.
We are especially pleased that Chris Snode has brought his skills as the founder of Crystal Palace Diving Club as well as being a diver himself (he competed in the 1976, 1980, and 1984 Olympics) and has organised a County competition for the first time in a number of years. He is also putting these skills to good use as the KCASA Diving Manager.
