Kent Water Polo Festival 2016 - Results

25th June 2016

The annual Kent Festival took place on 25 June 2016, hosted at Folkestone Leisure Centre. The afternoon was full of fun and exciting games with three tournaments taking place (mini 2004+, 2002+ and 200+).

Mini 2004+ tournament was the first tournament of the afternoon, which was played across the pool allowing two games to be played at once. All teams brought a strong supporting crowd of parents to cheer their team throughout the tournament. All games were pretty close and the tournament tense especially 7oaks/Monson v Hythe and Hythe v Faversham games. Going into the final round of matches everything was to play for with 7oaks/ Monson having the tournament within their grasp. 7oaks/ Monson beat Beckenham 3-1 and Hythe v Faversham ending 6-6 in a very close game though it could have quite easily gone either way. Therefore 7oaks/ Monson were the winners of mini 2004+ for 2016. Full results are below:

Final positions

  1. 7oaks/ Monson
  2. Hythe
  3. Beckenham
  4. Faversham

2002+ tournament - The next tournament was for the age group 2002+, Faversham, Hythe and Beckham all entered teams into this age group tournament this year. The first game Faversham v Hythe was a very close encounter ending with the score line 4-5 to Hythe. Beckenham once again brought a very strong team and demonstrated their swimming ability and their ability to score lots of goals. Therefore Beckenham won both of their games and won the tournament.   1. Beckenham
  2. Hythe
  3. Faversham

2000+ tournaments - The final tournament of the day was for the 2000+ age group, the teams entered were Monson/ Dover, Hythe and Beckenham. The tournament was won by Beckenham with a strong team from Monson /Dover coming second.
