Update on return to competition
8th May 2021
I recently met with a number of county colleagues from several disciplines to establish a plan for a return of county competition.
It was clear that both Artistic Swimming and Water Polo have plans in place and discipline managers, Erica Moo and Ben McDonald are working closely with clubs across the county to restart programmes as guidelines allow them.
With regards to competitive swimming, we do not anticipate a return to county-wide competition this side of the Summer break. However, in coming weeks, we will commence dialogue with pool providers to get a feel for what might be allowed to do from September onwards. We discussed feedback that had been received from the Coaches Forum and will endeavour to support their ideas during the latter part of the year. In the meantime, and where possible, I would encourage Clubs to get involved with the nationally run Level-X competition programme or maybe look to run your own licensed Level 4 single club competition.
If you do require any support in doing so, please get in touch with myself or any other member of the KCASA Management Committee. Here are some links to the current competition guidance that you might or might not have seen:

I would like to wish you all the very best as you set about rebuilding your clubs in coming weeks and months. I know it’s been a very tough time for all in the swimming community but we are resilient, and I look forward to seeing your club swimmers competing back in the pool later in the year.
