Under 16s mixed Team win at the Water Polo Inter County Tournament

3rd December 2017

Sunday 3 December: Kent under 16s mixed team travelled to Whitgift School to take part in the under 16s Inter County Competition. Kent was first up against Surrey, throughout the game Kent was able to pull out a lead and win the game 6-4. This set the team up well and gave them confidence for the rest of the tournament.

Next up was Essex v Sussex, sadly this was a one way match with final score being 11-0 to Essex.

Kent was on again this time playing against Essex who had just won very convincing. This was a very close match and an enjoyable one to watch with good polo from both teams. Kent was able to stay in front but only just with the final score 4-5 to Kent.

Kent now had two games off to rest and recover for their final match against Sussex, while Surrey V Sussex - 5-1, Surrey v Essex - 5-6 were played. They were close games and enjoyable to watch as a neutral supporter.

Going into the last match Sussex were looking for there first win and Kent knew it would be a hard game to win and were unable to let the pressure off just yet. Kent made a few simple errors which kept the game close, final score 3-6 to Kent.

Kent therefore had won all of their matches and were crowned winners of the age group. A massive congratulations goes to the players for their effort on Sunday evening and the hours of training they put in. A thank you goes to Jez for coaching the team and doing such a good job, Final thanks goes to the parents/ supporters for the many hours they give up watch training and transporting the players.
