Sean King Shield U14 Water Polo Tournament Results
31st October 2016
On 24 of September 2016 the Sean King Shield under 14 tournament took place at Swanley in double deep water. With over 40 players taking part from four different clubs we were sure of having a few close games and a tight tournament. The teams taking part were Beckenham A, Beckenham Breams, Bexley, Hythe and a joint Sevenoaks and Hythe team.
As the evening got under way Hythe won their first game 6-1 against Beckenham Breams with a score 6-1. Up next Beckenham A showed their strength by beating Sevenoaks/Hythe 0-9. There were two draws on the night which could have gone either way (Hythe v Bexley and Sevenoaks/Hythe v Bexley)
The evening ended with Bexley v Beckenham Breams. If Bexley won then Hythe would come second overall, if Beckenham Breams won then they would come second. It was a very close game and Bexley won the final game 4-3. It had been closely fought for second and third all night with Hythe finishing second and Bexley finishing third. Full results and table can be found below
A big thank you goes to all the parents filling the viewing gallery and their support throughout the evening. It must have been one of the best supported tournaments in Kent in recent times. A final thanks goes to all the coaches and refs and table helpers and not forgetting Paul Holehouse for organising the tournament.
