Royal Tunbridge Wells (RTW) Monson Swimming Club are seeking applications for a Level 3 Head Coach (Swimming).
The role is full time on self-employed basis and based in Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge, Kent. The salary is competitive, based on qualifications and experience.
The closing date is 5 July 2024, with interviews July 2024 and a start date of 1 September 2024 (or soon after)

We are looking for a highly skilled and dynamic new Head Coach. RTW Monson is one of the leading competitive swimming clubs in the southeast of England, and was awarded the best club in 2023 by South East Region The club has achieved longstanding success, many National Champions, GB Para swimmers, two Olympians and one Paralympian (Paris, 2024). We are a friendly and inclusive club, with high aspirations to compete at national and international level. This year Monson was top of both the medal and points table at the Kent County Championships, and top of the medal table at the southeast regional championships in 2024 and secured an amazing 8th place at the 2024 National Arena Swimming League Cup Final, having been at the B finals for the preceding years.
Monson is a SwimMark accredited club with 250+ members across the Learn to Swim programme, swimming squads and water polo sections. We currently have 27 swimmers who will be competing at British and English Summer Nationals this year, and need someone who can continue to develop our talented athletes.
Candidate requirements:
- A level 3 UKCC (or equivalent) coach to lead, inspire and motivate the next generation of swimmers
- A personal trainer qualification would be advantageous but not essential
- A leadership figure for our club
- Performance Squad coach with direct responsibility for all elements of our top squad
- An individual to lead the coaching direction of our competitive pathway within the club, preparing swimmers for County, Regional, National and International competitions
An individual who works collaboratively with others to achieve success, the successful candidate must also be able to:
- Be a strong team leader and player who is highly self-motivated
- Someone who works collaboratively with athletes, parents, other coaches and the committee
- Manage, support and develop a team of coaches and teachers
- Have an ability to identify, nurture, support and develop swimming talent
- Demonstrate their ability to deliver a world class training programme, for swimmers with a variety of abilities and aspirations
- Develop the club as a whole working closely with the committeeâ•¢ Work with swimmers, coaches, the committee and parents to sustain a positive environment and club ethos
- Attend targeted competitions and develop and maintain our club competition calendar
- Liaise with parents and the club committee on matters relating to swimmers and club development
