Kent Swimming Championships 2023 - Update

5th February 2023

2023 Kent Swimming Championships

London Aquatics Centre, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park E20 2ZQ

11/12 February and 25/26 February

Officials: First and foremost, sessions 2, 3 and 4, 11/12 February, are desperately short of qualified and licensed officials – the championships are licensed at level one, and it is a requirement to retain the level one status that all officials are qualified and licensed – please contact Jean Scott.

Spectators:  Doors will open to spectators at 8am on the West Ham side – spectators will need to have purchased a pre-paid ticket £5pp per session, children 12/Under free and show evidence at the door before gaining access to the building. Wristbands will be given out to all – these need to be worn to be readily identified by security. Link to purchase tickets may be found here.  Please note the following:

  • No food may be brought in – security will be present to carry out bag searches.
  • There will be a catering pop up pod on the West Ham side and there is the cafeteria just off of reception.
  • It is recommended that you use Car Park B at the Westfield Shopping Centre – there is very limited space at the LAC car park.
  • It is difficult at this time to plan travel by train but when and where you can it is advisable to use public transport and the rail network.

West Ham United:  Please be aware that WHU has a home game on 11 February against Chelsea KO 12.30.  WHU has another home game on 25 February against Nottingham Forest KO 1500

Swimmers/Coaches/Team Managers/Officials:  Doors will open to these groups of people at 7.30am on the Westfield side – officials please have your licence membership cards available to present to security.  Coaches/Team Managers please pick up your accreditation on the first day at the desk at the entrance.   NO passes will be issued on the day – please ensure that your club has applied for the correct number of passes.

Swimmers may bring in food for their own personal use.

Withdrawals:  These may be notified to Jean Scott prior to the events dates.  Withdrawals must be made by an accredited team representative.

it is a matter of courtesy that your swim coach/team manager/club have been notified of any withdrawals where parents have already notified of withdrawals.

Any not already notified:  withdrawals must be made prior to the start of any indicated warm up time before each session.

Please keep your coaches/team managers/club fully informed of any intention to withdraw a swimmer(s) – clubs will be fined for failing to withdraw swimmers resulting in heats being swum with empty lanes.

SwimPath:  The swim shop will be on site both weekends – Kent Championship merchandise is available to pre-order and purchase – contact here

Rubbish:  It is important and a responsibility for us all that we clear and dispose of any unwanted rubbish/refuse appropriately – please ensure that before you leave, your area is cleared of debris and is as tidy as possible – the county will incur extra charges if any uplift in cleaning requirements are made.
