Invitation to Officiate: 2017 Swim England Masters National Championships

Applications are now open to officiate at the 2017 Swim England Masters National Championships, to be held from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th October 2017 (inclusive) at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield.

All applicants must be qualified at least to Judge Level 1 and must possess a valid official’s licence.

Please note that appointments are made on a daily, not sessional, basis and you may be required to undertake any role for which you are qualified.

Whilst not compulsory, Swim England encourage room sharing at national events. By opting to room share accommodation costs are reduced, which greatly helps in the operation and provision of a high class event for our competitors.

Please indicate on your application if you are happy to be allocated a twin room and, if applicable, include the name of the person you would like to room share with. If you indicate that you are happy to share but no second person is named then you will be allocated a twin room with a person of the same gender.

For this event:

  • Accommodation will be at the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria, Sheffield on a bed and breakfast basis.
  • Accommodation will be provided from the night prior to the first day of appointment until the final day of appointment.
  • Officials wishing to arrange their own accommodation and claim the cost back must have this agreed IN ADVANCE by the Event Officer. The maximum claim per night, against receipts, will be £77.
  • Lunch will be provided on venue for all event volunteers during the event .
  • Claims can be made for evening meals and drinks (maximum of one standard alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage) up to the value of £15 per night of overnight accommodation. In all instances, receipts must be submitted, with all expenses being claimed clearly highlighted. Expenses will only be reimbursed subject to the value of itemised receipts.
  • Mileage is reimbursed at £0.45 per mile. Volunteers staying overnight in the hotel provided will be reimbursed for one return journey from their home address. Volunteers travelling daily to the venue will be reimbursed for one return journey per day of volunteering.
  • Standard class public transport will be reimbursed on presentation of a receipt with the expenses form.
  • All expenses will be paid post event by BACS. At the end of the event, expenses may be submitted to the Events Officer on site or alternatively these can also be posted to the Events Team, marked for the attention of the Events Officer, using the expenses form which will be provided in advance. Receipts must be submitted with all expenses being claimed, except mileage. Expenses will only be reimbursed subject to the value of the itemised receipts
