ASA Sport Governing Board Sport Specialist (Voluntary)
The ASA is the National Governing Body in England for swimming and associated disciplines of diving, water polo, open water swimming and synchronised swimming. With over 20 million swimmers, it is the country’s leading participation sport. It has a vibrant, modern governing body and is recognised as providing leadership to swimming in other countries and to other sports in England.
The ASA supports English swimming clubs, members, volunteers, coaches and officials. The talent program provides opportunities for talented individuals to develop skills and potential. A comprehensive certification and education programme for teachers, coaches and officials is also available. The ASA has strong commercial relationships with sponsors and pool operators and has an annual income of approximately £20 million.
As a result of a new structure, the ASA is looking to recruit a Sport Specialist for the Sport Governing Board who will provide the Board with an independent perspective on the sport and membership activities of the ASA. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and shape the future of the ASA. Applicants should have the following knowledge and experience: -
·Recruitment, retention and development of volunteers within a sporting environment
·The delivery of an effective athlete pathway
·Strategic development of clubs, counties and regions in relation to sport
·Demonstrable passion for sport
