11-Year-Old Development Pathway Virtual Camp
16th April 2022
An online camp, open to all Kent County Age Group swimmers who are 11 years old as at 31 December 2022, will be taking place over Zoom.
The camp will be delivered by Keiron Piper the Lead Coach for the County Programme and will concentrate on technical aspects of competitive swimming in line with the recommendations of Swim England (we await the full syllabus from Swim England and will update this note accordingly when they are to hand). As it is quite technical it is aimed at competitive club swimmers rather than those in learn to swim programmes.
We will accept athletes for this virtual camp on a first-come, first-served basis - the capacity available should be more than sufficient to allow all eligible swimmers to attend - otherwise registration will close at 23:59pm on Wednesday 13 April.
To book a place, parents/carers need to:
- Sign up and pay using this link. Swim England recommends a charge, and we are asking for a fee of £10 per swimmer towards staff and other administrative costs.
- Complete and email the Athlete Reply Form confirming eligibility to participate to John Handley.
- Complete the Zoom pre-registration process which includes a short questionnaire. Once submitted and subject to availability, the place should be approved a few days later. At that point the Zoom log-in link will be sent to you.
Later this year:
A face-to-face Development camp is planned for the summer. We hope to hold this on 12 June 2022, subject to availability of venues.
The selection criteria have yet to be confirmed by Swim England but, as an indication only, in the past selection has been based on the best performances showing in National rankings after completion of the County Championships - this is likely to be much later in view of the date of the Camp.
