10th June 2017

Date: 10 June 2017

Venue:  White Oak, Swanley

Time:  Coach and Volunteers 17.00-21.00 | u12s 19.30-20.30 | u16s 20.30-21.30

Cost:  Free

This session is focused on at coaches, volunteers and players (u12 and u16) as part of the launch of the Kent Water Polo Award Scheme.

The aim of the evening is for those involved to gain an understanding of the award scheme, to develop themselves as coaches/volunteers and for the players to understand the standard at which they are currently performing (time allowing) and seeing what they need to work at in training.

The evening will start at 17.00 (for coaches and volunteers) with a two-hour induction of the Kent Water Polo Award Scheme and also discuss coaching drills that can help teach the skills from scratch, led by Simon Woolley.  All coaches/active volunteers who want to learn more and get involved in the sport are welcome to attend.

Under 12s (19.30-20.30) should be on poolside 15 minutes beforehand to ensure a prompt start.

Please invite players who are under 12 and have experience of the game and are able to perform some of the basic skills eg water polo freestyle & back crawl and eggbeater, so they can participate in an assessment session for the mini polo badge (full info at http://www.kentswimming.org/imgs/mini_polo_badge827.pdf).

Under 16s (20.30-21.30) should be on poolside 15 minutes beforehand to insure a prompt start.

Please invite players who are under 16 so they can participate in an assessment session for the bronze badge (full info at http://www.kentswimming.org/imgs/bronze_badge596.pdf).

The evening will end with a feedback session for coaches.
