British Swimming Referee Training 2018

23rd October 2017

Applications for the November 2018 Referees’ Exam are now being accepted.

The pre-requisites for applying for training can be found on the website at https://www.britishswimming.org/browse-sport/swimming/officials/officials-qualifications-training/ in the Referee section and prospective candidates should ensure that they satisfy these before applying.

Please can I remind anyone considering applying for Referee training of the following:

  • Course Leaders must have undergone the prescribed British Swimming training to be able to act in that role. The full list of approved Course Leaders is on pages 2 and 3 of the application form. Should you require contact details for any of your local Course Leaders in order to discuss your application before submission, please contact me.
  • The applicant must obtain the approval of their County/Regional Officials Co-ordinator/District Convenor before applying and provide them with evidence of the 50+ signed hours (by officials’ log book or similar).
    • ASA – County AND Regional Coordinators
    • WASA – Swimming Officials Group
    • SASA – District Convenor
  • Any forms received that do not have the required endorsement as confirmation that the candidate meets the requirements will not be accepted. This endorsement can be supplied separately by email if it is not practical to get the application form signed.

The exam will be held on Saturday 3 November 2018 at 10am.

If you have any queries that are not covered by the documentation, please contact me.
