Tonbridge SC is looking to recruit a Level 2 Lead Coach for its Junior County Development Squad

Tonbridge SC is a competitive club with proven growth in competitiveness over last few years which we aim to continue.  We have a pathway from Learn to Swim to National level - and recently International level.  

We have a vacancy for a Level 2 Lead Coach for our Junior County Development (JCD) Squad and are are looking for someone who is experienced, passionate, and committed to leading the squad to success.

This squad is primarily consists of 8 to around 12 year-olds who are committed to regular training and aiming towards Kent qualifying and higher performance. You will be reporting to Head Coach.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Have good communication and organisational skills with: parents, swimmers, volunteer assistants and other coaches.
  • Liaise closely with Lead Coaches for squads above and below.
  • Manage and monitor attendance registers.
  • Hold a minimum of a L2 Swimming Coaching qualification (or aiming towards).
  • Prepare training plans for JCD for their sessions and liaise with squad assistants (preparation is required out of hours).
  • Have good knowledge of coaching methods and be prepared to attend CPD opportunities.
  • Attend competitions and meetings on regular basis.
  • Assist or lead team selection for selected galas.
  • Be driven to better themselves and achieve results.
  • Be committed to attending / running at least the majority of the following sessions per week:

o Tue: 8-9.30pm @ Tonbridge

o Wed: 6.30-8.30pm @ Tunbridge Wells (covering alternative squad ... not JCD)

o Thu: 8-10pm @ Tonbridge

o Fri: 7-9pm @ Tonbridge

o Sun: 8-10am @ Sevenoaks

Providing some occasional holiday cover and additional hours and training sessions are likely.

Other qualifications may be useful but not essential and will be considered as part of the application process (eg Lifeguarding, Teaching, Safeguarding).

We are aiming to fill this post by end of October at the latest.
