As you may be aware the Kent County ASA are again implementing the County 11 year old Pathway in accordance with the requirements of Swim England Talent. We have already held a Virtual Camp open to all swimmers aged 11as at the end of this Year and on behalf of Swim England we are now preparing for a face-to-face Camp to be on Sunday 31st October at Kings School, Canterbury.
This will be open to swimmers selected in accordance with Swim England guidelines. We are hopeful in 2022 the programme will resume the format of three face-to-face camps in April, July and October with the swimmers selected based on ranking times up to the end of the CountyChampionships to be held next January/February.
In order to deliver the programme this year and next we are now recruiting at least three SkillsCoaches to work with the Head Coach (Martin Jurco of Black Lion). There are six Skills Coaches in total but a number of the Skills Coaches appointed for 2020 have agreed to continue. The roles are particularly aimed at Level 1 Coaches although we will consider applications from those more qualified. You may have already received a copy of the Pathway Guidance published for the period 2017-2021 but if not, you can access copy using the link below - this is of course subject to review at some point in the future.
I will remain as the Programme Lead assisted by John King (the County Development Co-ordinator) and if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you are interested in one of the roles, please return the completed application form (from experience a scanned pdf of it may be better as there seem to be issues with being able scroll down the boxes both when completing and reading them) to me at email@example.com by no later than Saturday 11September 2021.
