An online development camp has been arranged for Kent's 11-year-old club swimmers

27th June 2021

An online camp via Zoom will take place on 27 June, starting at 09:00 and finishing at 12:30, open to all Kent County Age Group swimmers who are 11 years of age as at 31st December 2021. We will accept athletes on a 'first come, first served' basis, although the capacity available should be more than sufficient to allow all eligible swimmers to attend.

The camp will be delivered by Martin Jurco, the Lead Coach for the County Programme, and will focus on technical aspects of Individual Medley, lifestyle and nutrition, and will include a video interview with an inspirational speaker. Please note that, as the content will be relatively technical, the camp is aimed at competitive club swimmers rather than those in learn to swim programmes.

Swim England recommends a charge of between £5 and £10 per athlete but, in the view of the lack of opportunities over the last 15 months or so, the County has decided to waive making any charge.

If you would like to book a place for your child on this online camp, you will need to complete the registration process confirming eligibility to participate. Online registration will open at 09:00 on Monday 14 June and close at 23:59 on Thursday 24 June 2021.

To register your child:

  1. Fill in the Swim England consent form and email it to onlinecamp@kentswimming.org. This must be done before starting the final part of the registration process below.
  2. Read the Zoom rules for u18 years swimmers and explain them to your child before the start of the camp.
  3. Register online via Zoom using this link, making sure that your child's name is filled in at the top of the form and that the email address is yours and not your child's (the form asks you to complete this several times as clarification). If you have two eligible children, please register each separately. Information given will be used solely to confirm eligibility to take part in the camp and to ensure the security of arrangements on the day.

Once you have completed both parts of the registration process, you will receive confirmation of the Zoom registration, and your child's place on the camp will be confirmed after details have been checked and subject to availability. The Zoom link for the camp will be sent out after 24 June 2021.
