Applications to Officiate - British Summer Championships 2016

15th April 2016

Applications are now open to officiate at the 2016 British Summer Championships, to be held from Tuesday 26th to Sunday 31st July 2016 (inclusive) at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield.

All applicants must be qualified at least to Judge Level 1 and must possess a valid official’s licence.

Further details of the event can be found at http://www.swimming.org/britishswimming/calendar/british-summer-championships-2016

British Swimming now expect volunteers to room share at national and international events. By doing this accommodation costs are reduced, which greatly helps in the operation and provision of a high class event for our competitors.

If you wish British Swimming to arrange your accommodation:

  • ·If you have a preferred sharer please indicate this on your application form.
  • ·If you have not expressed a preference you will be allocated a shared twin room with another official of the same sex.
  • ·If you do not wish to share, you have the option to pay a supplement for a single room – please indicate this on your application form.
  • ·If you have a medical condition that will prevent you from sharing a room please submit evidence of your medical condition to the Events Office (britishevents@swimming.org). This information will be kept confidential.

For this event:

  • ·Accommodation will be at the Holiday Inn Victoria, Sheffield.
  • ·Accommodation will be provided from the 25th to the 30th inclusive for those appointed for the whole duration, or for the appropriate dates for those not. Accommodation on the 31st will be subject to the event finish time and travelling time of the individual, in accordance with British Swimming policy.
  • ·The supplement payable for a single room/maximum reclaimable for arranging your own accommodation will be £42.50 per night.
  • ·Meal arrangements are to be confirmed, but will either be provided or a daily rate paid.

Please complete the attached form and return it to me by post or to helen.akers@swimming.org before Friday 15th April 2016 if you wish to be considered for this event. If you are applying for your first National event, please ensure that you also complete and return the attached supplementary form.
